Queensland Occupation List

Queensland skilled occupation list (QSOL) 2018 shows the demand for labor and fields in which international immigrants can file for a job. Candidates wish to apply for Queensland under Australian immigration have to check whether their occupation is in demand in Queensland and also make sure that they meet additional requirements.

Note- Additional requirements may include job, work experience, registration in specialized fields. You can’t submit the expression of interest (EOI), if you don’t meet the additional requirements.

Queensland skilled occupation list 2018 contains the categories that are currently hiring highly skilled and trained professionals for work in Queensland.

Skilled visa options-

If Candidates wish to live and work in Queensland permanently as a skilled worker, they can apply to below mentioned skilled visas –

  •         Skilled nominated visa (subclass 190)

This visa allows you to live and work in Queensland permanently.

  •        Skilled (provisional) regional visa (subclass 489)

This visa allows you to live and work in Queensland for up to four years, and is a pathway to permanent residency.

Note- If you are a current holder of skilled regional visa (subclass 489). You will not be eligible for nomination for the skilled nominated visa (subclass 190).

If the skilled immigrant has the work experience in any of the listed occupation on the Queensland Occupation List, then his/her probability of getting Australia PR increases.

I’m a Postgraduate student from a QLD University- QSOL

PhD graduates may be eligible for the Skilled Nomination (Permanent) visa (subclass 190), allowing you to live and work in Queensland permanently. For being eligible to apply for Queensland Skilled Visa State Nomination, your occupation must be mentioned in the List of eligible occupations.

The Queensland skilled occupation list 2018 helps Queensland state to nominate skilled immigrants in the high demand occupations which permits the skilled workers to live and work in Queensland.

Note 1- Applicants are required to have the following documents:

  1. Minimum 3 years experience (Including 6 month work experience in Queensland)
  2. A job offer, offering a full time job in their nominated occupation with a registered employer in Queensland.
  3. For regional areas, the requirement is 2 years (with 4 months of work in a regional Queensland location) and a job offer in a full time position from a registered Queensland employer.

Note 2:  Required 5 years of experience post qualification in the nominated occupation along with a job offer for a full time position in the nominated occupation with any registered employer of the state.

The state is looking for ICT skills and work experience in relation to the following: cyber security, data scientist, data and business analytics and ICT development and architecture. (The 2017-18 QSOL intends to place a specific Queensland ceiling of 200 on nominations for ICT occupations across onshore, alumni and offshore programs).

The ACS skills assessment will state what date your skilled work experience is recognized from.

  1.      Example:

The following employment after December 2011 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 313113 (Web Administrator) of the ANZSCO Code.

  •         Please ensure you check this date before claiming work experience points on your Skill Select EOI. If you claim work experience points prior to this date listed on your skills assessment, your state nomination application will be refused due to points being incorrectly claimed. For more information, please refer to Migration Skills Assessment on the ACS website.

Note 3: Applicants are required to have a 6 years work experience in their chosen field and a job offer for a full time position in their nominated occupation with a registered employer in the state.
