Ontario Occupation List invites the skilled workers from foreign countries to live and work in Ontario in the occupations available in the Ontario Occupation list and thus accelerate the developed economy of Canada. The skilled immigrants who have required skills and qualifications in the listed occupation can apply under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
Under Ontario immigration, provincial employers need skilled employees who can help in filling the skill shortage in the occupation mentioned in the Ontario Occupation list.
Ontario employers sponsor the foreign skilled workers for Canada PR where the nominated immigrant is required to work in National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A or B occupation under the Ontario General Category (Employer Category).

OINP General Category
The OINP General Category targets foreign skilled workers who are holding job offers and have positive intention to settle in the province of Ontario for permanent.
For a nomination certificate to be issued under this category, both the employer and the foreign national must show that eligibility requirements are met. Eligible employers are required to complete an Employer Form, which is submitted with the foreign workers application.
Minimum Requirements for Ontario Immigration Occupation List-
In order to be eligible as a foreign worker under the OINP General Category, applicants should:
- Have at least two years (24 months) of work experience which is paid and verified, either in Canada or abroad, within five years back in their selected occupation OR, you will need an acceptable registration if applying to a regulated occupation available in the occupation list of Ontario province;
- Have a permanent, full-time job offer in a skilled occupation (NOC levels 0, A, or B) from the employer that is also submitting an application; and
- Living abroad OR working in Canada on a valid work permit, or studying on study permit or visiting on visitor record.
